The National Communications Commission (NCC) has denied reports circulating on social media that it has ordered telecommunications companies to shut down mobile networks in Katsina State. Governor Aminu Bello Masari’s Director of Information, Alhaji Abdul Labaran, confirmed this in a press statement issued in Katsina on Monday.
He said the chairman of the NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, who spoke to the state government, described the story as a hoax.
