The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved the nomination of Adebayo Lawal as the new Deputy Governor of the state. This follows the impeachment of Engineer Rauf Olaniyan on Monday by the lawmakers. President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday morning has sent a request to the National Assembly to approve the extension of emergency rule in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states by another six months.
